October 23 & 24, 2017
University of Calgary Campus
Over the past 8 years, ACGC has aligned our Annual General Meeting to coincide with an Annual Conference and Public Enaggement event. However, this year, we will be hosting a much larger, cross-sectoral, multi-stakeholder two-day symposium in October entitled Together 2017: Collaboration, Innovation & the Sustainable Development Goals. This will be the first-ever, multi-stakeholder SDG Symposium to be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC), in collaboration with many participants and sponsors from the private sector, civil society, and several representatives from federal, provincial, and municipal governments will come together to explore a whole-of-society approach to the SDGs from a multitude of perspectives.
Together 2017 provides the opportunity to showcase the work being done across sectors, celebrate the accomplishments already made, while recognizing the work that still needs to be done in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
This symposium will set the foundation for how government, civil society, and business can work together to use the SDGs as a framework and common language, creating better organizations in a better world. It is our ambition, that delegates will leave with collaborative, innovative, solutions-based strategies to embed the Global Goals within organizational frameworks, achieving key goals and the SDGs by 2030 – in Alberta, in Canada and internationally.
