Top 30 Under 30 2018

The Alberta Council for Global Cooperation’s Top 30 Under 30 award highlights the extraordinary young people who are working towards a just and sustainable future for everyone. ACGC wants to find these youth and share their stories across the province and beyond.

At the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015, world leaders adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030. Nominees whose efforts contribute to these goals are being sought out. This year’s theme is Partnerships for the Goals: How youth are collaborating to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Check out the Sustainable Development Goals here.

The Top 30 Under 30 recipients are announced during International Development Week (February 4 – 10, 2018).

To be eligible nominees must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be 10 – 30 years of age as of March 31, 2018,
  • Play an active role in making a positive difference as models of civic engagement globally and/or locally
  • Currently reside in Alberta, or be affiliated with one of ACGC’s member organizations abroad, or be a resident of Alberta residing elsewhere (i.e. students studying outside of Alberta but whom still consider Alberta home).
  • Be willing to participate in the creation of the publication, where their information and picture(s) will be displayed to the general public, and
  • Be easily contacted (in Canada or otherwise reachable).

Nominations close Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 12:00 Midnight MST and only one nomination per candidate will be considered. While ACGC will accept self nominations, however, we strongly encourage alternative nominators.
