The Sustainable Development Goals Hub
Marvin Etruw (he/him) is an undergraduate student at the University of Alberta, double majoring in Political Science and Economics. He is passionate about empowering people through financial literacy and working towards a sustainable future. Unsurprisingly, he aligns strongly with quality education, building sustainable cities and communities, as well as responsible production and consumption, or UN Sustainable Development Goals #4, #11 and #12. He is strongly motivated by the troubling special report by The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published in 2019, that says we have until 2030 to make meaningful changes that will allow us to avoid the most pernicious effects of climate change. He believes the time to act against climate change is now, and no later. Marvin hopes his work with the SDG Hub will be helpful in a small part of this goal. He plans to pursue a career that promotes and helps transition businesses and communities towards more sustainable ways of existing.
