The Sustainable Development Goals Hub

Youth Participants

My name is Seniha, and I am currently attending Me LaZerte High school in Edmonton. When I initially discovered the SDG Youth Hub I was very ecstatic to see young people trying to implement the united nations global goals within their communities. I believe that as the young and upcoming generation we must take responsibility and initiative within our communities and eventually on a larger scale. Thus, for the last couple years I have been trying multiple ways to serve my community and get involved. I am currently a member of the CEYC (City of Edmonton Youth Council), in the health and wellness subcommittee. Additionally, prior to the Covid-19 pandemic spread I was a regular volunteer with Alberta Health Care Services, YMCA, BGCBigs, Edmonton Public Library, and the leadership team at my school. Although all 17 global goals are essential I would like to take action specifically regarding the topics: health and peace, justice, and strong institutions. I am really looking forward to meeting and cooperating with several other youth who have similar interests as I, and working alongside organizations who are trying to make a difference.
