The Sustainable Development Goals Hub
Elise Pundyk is a student at the University of Lethbridge, where she is majoring in art history and museum studies. She became passionate about SDG4: Education when she helped bring the World University Service of Canada’s Student Refugee Program to her university. This program has since brought two refugee students to complete their studies in Lethbridge.
Elise also spearheaded a student union referendum to ensure the university will continue to welcome refugee students in perpetuity. Through her work with WUSC, Elise learned the power of youth activism and is excited about the potential found in youth networks. Elise believes in increasing access to quality education to youth globally, but she also holds this belief locally, as a member of the 2019 Allocations Committee of United Way Lethbridge and South Western Alberta.
Elise hopes to continue to work with youth in promoting education and will spend next semester in France to gain more global experience.
