Location: Edmonton preferred, from the ACGC office. Remote may be considered

The Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC), on behalf of the Inter-Council Network for Provincial and Regional Councils (ICN), is seeking a qualified individual to join this initiative in the role of Project Officer for the Spur Change National Program.

Reporting to the National Spur Change Director of ACGC, the Project Officer will be responsible for providing full program administrative support, including assisting with administration, finance, logistics, communications, and supporting the monitoring activities of the Spur Change program, in accordance with Global Affairs Canada (GAC) standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations and Project Administration Support:
• Assist staff with administrative tasks including supporting financial processes
• Provide support to the planning and delivery of online learning opportunities and inperson training by coordinating with internal programming leads
• Assist with the coordination of meetings • Order materials and supplies, print materials and distribute as required

Communications Support:
• Assist with communications activities, including supporting consistently high standard bilingual communications (with a focus on our French language content)
• Assist with updating the website, including the resource library and event calendar via WordPress
• Assist with the development and implementation of social media strategies for specific events in collaboration with the Communications and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Coordinator

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
• Track registrants (conference, in-person training, distance learning opportunities) according to GAC requirements
• Assist Spur staff with the creation of data collection tools (online surveys, questionnaires, roundtables) required in collaboration with program’s coordinators
• Manipulate and collate data across spreadsheets and other database platforms to support the reporting

The ideal candidate will have:
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience (or equivalent) in an administrative capacity, ideally in the not-for-profit sector;
• Native speaker fluency in French and strong working English are mandatory;
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and administrative skills;
• Strong problem solving skills with an ability to work independently, while seeking clarification where needed;
• Experience coordinating administration across a remote team;
• Experience supporting financial processes, including expense claims, invoices, and receivables;
• The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment;
• Experience using MS Word, Google and Adobe applications, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel for data; experience using virtual webinar (Zoom), team management tools, and stakeholder meeting technology in bilingual settings;
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Other preferred qualifications:
• Knowledge of, and commitment to, the international development sector in Canada;
• Knowledge of non-profit funding mechanisms and government policies;
• Experience supporting and planning large scale events;
• Understanding of human rights-based and feminist approaches to development and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Position Details:
This position will report directly to the National Director and is preferred to be based at the ACGC office in Edmonton due to the administrative nature of this position, but other locations can be considered.
