About Us
Change for Children is a small grassroots organization fighting against poverty and injustice internationally. By working in cooperation with the indigenous peoples of developing countries, Change for Children assists in finding long-term solutions to the root causes of poverty. Projects build capacity in communities while promoting health, human rights, and sustainable development.
About the Campaign
We are campaigning for our Tech-Education project in the BOSAWAS biosphere reserve in Nicaragua. Campaign donations will fund solar power in off-grid communities located 8 hours by motorized dugout canoe from the nearest urban center.
With solar comes light in the dark. Supporting Change for Children’s Tech-Education Project means making solar power available in the remote rainforest. But it also means so much more.
With solar comes power for electronic devices, and therefore communication and connectivity. It means tablet technology in the hands of teachers and students, access to educational resources pre-loaded onto digital libraries, and the creative engagement of inquisitive students where books are hard to come by.
